Now Jesus prepared for his death on the cross. At first, he defended a woman who anointed him with her most precious nard oil, as all disciples and bystanders criticized her for throwing money out of the window. But Jesus fully understood her heart, that out of her grace, had made a clear decision to give her most precious, everything she had, to Jesus.

Like this woman, numerous servants of God like the missionaries from Korea have poured out their whole life as a nard oil for God and for his work. We as well may pour out our everything – our whole life, our time, our energy – for God and serve his work.

Secondly, we could learn about Jesus’ spiritual authority that came through his obedience until his death on cross. In Gethsemane, we can see how Jesus made a clear decision to surrender to God’s will despite his own desire. Jesus made a clear decision to obey God’s redemption plan for the world and was strengthened and encouraged through his prayer struggle to obey God’s will and counsel for him until the end.

Jesus was spit on, mocked, and condemned to death. On the cross, Jesus was forsaken by God, as he had to bear all sin on cross. Jesus died, in utter loneliness, the most shameful death in order to fulfill God’s redemption plan and free mankind from all sin so that we now can have eternal life and have a love relationship to God. As Jesus obeyed God until his death on cross, Jesus’ spiritual authority became visible and worked in a roman centurion, in Joseph and Arimathea and Nicodemus. Jesus’ obedience works in everyone and brings about a fundamental change in everybody who accepts Jesus’ obedience until his death on cross that freed us from God’s wrath.

Now let us obey God’s counsel for us as well and absolutely obey his will in our life. Let us learn Jesus’ obedience by executing Jesus’ great commission and by holding on to one word of God. Through 1:1 Bible Study and Campus ministry, we may bring Jesus’ grace and salvation work through his obedience to the lost sheep on the campuses. Jesus’ spiritual authority will work in them by changing them into God’s children and a kingdom of priests, and reawakening Germany and Europe into a vast army of five million prayer coworkers and 100000 Bible teachers.
